The Dream Machines were created as part of an immersive time-based art experience. These are replicas of Bryon Gysin’s dream machines, tuned to a low alpha rhythm to generate complex visual sensory experiences.

Separately, when viewers were tested with 96-channel EEG, disturbances to the standard beta-band power and imposed rhythms in the alpha band were visible over the visual cortex.
